Learn from real work
See how people in other fields actually use AI: what works, what doesn't, beyond the hype.
Expert interviews
We ask experts who inspire us, from all kinds of fields. Each article takes a different question: how AI is changing their work and the way they think, what they trust, and how to keep it efficient.

What we write about
We're interested in all kinds of work, and in the bigger questions AI raises: how we think, what we trust, and how to use it efficiently. Below are the ideas we've collected so far. The best topics come from the people who join, so tell us what's missing.
Find your topic
These are ideas, and most of them are still taking shape. The ones already on the schedule come first, so you can join those today.
What's next
We're exploring different formats and still thinking them through, so nothing here has a date yet. Join the ones you'd come to, or suggest your own. The most-wanted goes first.
Shift Community
We're starting a community for people who want to talk about AI: the questions that matter, and the future we'd like it to have.
It isn't open yet, and we're still working out what it should be. That's exactly why your view matters right now: tell us what you'd want from it.
Who we're looking for
Any field, any country, any level of experience with AI.
What it gives you
AI is new, and all of us are forming habits around it right now. Here's what we want the community to give the people in it.
See how people in other fields actually use AI: what works, what doesn't, beyond the hype.
Talk with experts and curious people from different jobs and countries.
Experts can appear in our articles with their name and a link to their work, if they agree to it.
Suggest topics, co-write articles, and help choose which calls and meetups we run.
What would you like to see in a community like this?
About Shift
Why we do it
We're a designer and a developer. We work with AI every day, and we make a tool for teams to use it together, so this is close to our own work.
We share what we learn as we go, on our blog and social feeds. And we're curious how other people are doing it: what's changed for them, what they trust, what they've worked out. So we ask, and we publish the answers. We're starting a community around it too.
Thank you for sharing.
Who it's for
For readers
Across many different jobs, in people's own words, side by side.
For the people we interview
Your words are handled with care, you can see everything before it goes live, and you meet others who think about the same things.
What we're curious about
Two of them are already on the schedule: fact-checking, and AI and the planet.
Who's behind it
AI changed our own work a lot: some of it excited us, and some of it worried us. We'd rather talk about both.
We're looking for co-hosts for the live calls and co-authors for the articles. If that sounds like you, drop us a line.
ConnectQuestions
The short answers. For anything else, .
Five to ten questions, depending on the topic, and usually about 20 minutes. In writing or on a call, whichever you prefer. Skip anything you don't feel like answering.
Whichever you prefer. We can send you the whole draft with your parts highlighted before it goes live, or just send you the link once the article is out.
Most articles are general parts of AI at Work, across fields. A themed topic starts once three people join: we prepare the questions, send them to everyone who joined, and put the article on the schedule. An article without a date comes out as soon as its experts are in.
Three to six. Six is the most.
We fill each part in the order answers come in. A part has up to six people, so the first six to send their answers are in the next part, and everyone else is in the one after. The sooner you answer, the sooner you're published.
Sure. We can describe your work in general terms and leave out your name, company and photo.
Shift is free, and it will stay free: the articles, taking part, and the community. Mantle Chat, our product for teams, has a free plan that we try to keep genuinely useful, and paid plans for teams that need more.
